Dmitry Vasiukov
Was born on April 2, 1958 in Moscow.

In 1979 he graduated from the Acting Department of Higher Theater School. About six years he worked on Mosfilm, first as an assistant, then as a second director. In the 90 years he worked as an advertisement director on television. At the end of the 90s D. Vasyukov was one of the founders, director and presenter of fishing TV program "Dialogues about fishing". Within 5 years, the program went on the TV-channel "Russia".

TV project titled as "Happy People" was intended in 2003, shooting began in late 2004. In early 2007, 4 series of documentary film about settlement Bakht life in taiga were completed (52 min. each of them).

In 2008, in Moscow, the film was awarded on the National Documentary Film Festival "Artdokfest " and received the "Laurel Branch". 

The right to show the film bought the first channel. 

In 2010 was created the 90-minute international version of the film with the participation of Werner Herzog called "Happy People: A Year in the Taiga". The international version of the film was awarded prizes at film festivals in the U.S., Italy and Japan. 

In 2012, this film was released in cinemas in Europe and in 2013 - in the United States. After the international film version bought Discovery Channel. The premiere took place on 12 June, 2013.

In 2013 he finished production of 2-serial documentary "Pomor".Film was bought by the First channel. The Russian premiere took place at the film festival "Movement" in Omsk.
